About Us

Des Mulcahy Ltd is a long-established South Canterbury company with a reputation for integrity, quality work and reliability based on more than half a century in business.

Originally established in 1951 by the late Des Mulcahy in partnership with Doug Hinchley, the company has been run by Des Mulcahy's sons, John and Pat, since 1994.

The company has thrived over the years. It outgrew the original premises in Turnbull Street and eventually moved to its current location in Butler Street in 2001. Along with much needed space for the team of plumbers, gas fitters and other tradesmen, the Butler Street headquarters also includes a showroom with its extensive product range and comprehensive information on many other products and services.


Our Team at Des Mulcahy Ltd:

 

Pat Mulcahy - Pat has been with the company since 1973, and is now a Director.  He is also a Certifying Plumber and Drainlayer.

 

John Mulcahy - A company employee since 1980 John is now a Director, as well as a Registered Plumber and Exemption Drainlayer.

 

Julia Mulcahy - Is our Office/Accounts Manager. Joining the company in 2011.

 

Peter Shaw - Certifying Plumber, Gasfitter and Drainlayer, Independent Qualified person, Tradesperson Electrical Work certificate, Rinnai Authorised Service person, Moffatt Limited Service person, Algas and SDI Factory technician.

Owen Armit -  Certifying Plumber and Exemption Drainlayer.

 
Paul Godden - Exemption Plumber, Gasfitter and Drainlayer. Approved Switch Pellet Fire Service Technician. New Zealand Home Heating Association - Solid Fuel Appliance Installation Technician

 

Casey Anderson -  Exemption Plumber and Drainlayer. 

 

David Ferris - Plumber, Drainlayer and Gasfitter Assistant.
